Green Detox Smoothie

Recipe created by celebrity trainer Jen Widerstrom and featured in her book “Diet Right for Your Personality Type” 

Quick and easy to make, this smoothie made with spinach, beets, almond milk and cucumber is ideal as a refreshing detox. Prepare in advance at home or in the office blender for a perfect afternoon pick-me-up.

Yields 1 serving 

Ingredients 

1 1/2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk 

1 1/2 cups fresh spinach 

1 cup chopped beets 

1/2 banana 

3/4 cup chopped cucumber 

1 tablespoon flaxseed 

Juice of 1 lemon 

Crushed ice, as needed 

Directions

Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a glass and serve.
